REVIEWER HELP BOOK

Step 1: Receive Email Notification

When a manuscript is assigned to you for review, you will receive an email from ResearchBook with the following details:

Manuscript ID number

Manuscript title

Editor's name and contact information

Link to access the manuscript in your reviewer dashboard

Deadline for submitting your review

What to do: Check this email for the Manuscript ID (you will need it to log in).

Step 2: Login to Your Reviewer Account

Go to https://researchbook.in

Click "Login" in the top menu

Enter your Username and Password

Click "Sign In"

You will now see your Reviewer Dashboard showing:

Assigned Manuscript(s)

Reviewed Manuscript(s)

Manuscript status updates

Step 3: View Assigned Manuscript

On your dashboard, look for the "Assigned Manuscript(1)" section

Click on the manuscript or the "Start Review" button next to it

This will open the "View Assigned Manuscript" page

Step 4: Review the Manuscript Details

On the manuscript page, you will see:

Manuscript Details:

Type: The type of article (Research, Review, Short Communication, etc.)

Title: The full title of the manuscript

Abstract: A summary of the work (minimum 247 words, unstructured)

Keywords: Main keywords from the manuscript

Download Manuscript: A button to download the full manuscript file (usually DOCX or PDF)

Reviewer Assignment Details:

Assigned to Name: Your name as the assigned reviewer

Contact No: Your registered mobile number (SMS alerts will be sent here)

Email: Your registered email (Email alerts will be sent here)

Assigned On: The date you were assigned this manuscript

Due On: The deadline for submitting your review

Step 5: Evaluate the Manuscript

Read the manuscript carefully and evaluate it on the following criteria. For each criterion, select the appropriate rating:

Step 6: Provide Your Overall Recommendation

Based on your evaluation, select one of the following recommendations:

Accept – The manuscript is suitable for publication as is

Accept after minor revisions – The manuscript is good but needs small changes before publication

Reconsider after substantial revision – The manuscript has merit but requires major changes; ask authors to revise and resubmit

Reject – The manuscript does not meet the journal's standards and should not be published

Step 7: Upload Your Review Report

Prepare a detailed review report document (PDF, DOC, or DOCX format)

File size should not exceed 10 MB

Click "Reviewed Report" section and upload your file

The report should include:

Your detailed comments and observations

Specific suggestions for improvement

Point-by-point responses to the manuscript's strengths and weaknesses

Step 8: Provide Specific Comments

In the "Specific Comments" field, write:

How the manuscript can be improved through revisions

Specific issues, errors, or areas of concern

Suggestions for additional references or methodology adjustments

Any other constructive feedback for the author(s)

Tip: Be professional, constructive, and specific. Authors should understand clearly what needs to be improved.

Step 9: Submit Your Review

Review all your evaluations, recommendation, and comments

Ensure your review report file is uploaded

Click "Submit Review" button

You will receive a confirmation message

Step 10: Track Review Status

After submission, you can check:

Current Status: Shows whether your review has been submitted

Submitted on: Date your review was submitted

Updated on: Last update date

Communication: Any messages from the editor regarding this manuscript

Important Notes for Reviewers

Confidentiality: Keep the manuscript and its contents confidential

Conflict of Interest: If you have a conflict of interest, inform the editor immediately

Unbiased Review: Base your evaluation on the manuscript's merit only, not on personal relationships or competition

Professionalism: Provide constructive feedback; avoid harsh or inappropriate language

Timeliness: Submit your review before the due date

Email Alerts: You will receive SMS and email notifications about manuscript status updates on your registered contact details
